The Locations
Rocky Mountain National Park is the most popular elopement destination in Colorado. The park requires special usage permits for weddings (regardless of size), and can be VERY limited on availability. As a registered planner with the park, I can obtain the permit on your behalf to expedite the process and get you a discount rate.
Rocky Mountain Wedding Park is the only ceremony site in Estes Park designated for small weddings, micro-weddings, and elopements! I personally worked with a local venue in the area to secure this space so that my couples could have a private and beautiful area to host small weddings. This simple venue offers beautiful mountain views just outside of Estes Park, and groups can travel just up the road to do additional photos in Rocky Mountain National {Park after the ceremony.
Sapphire Point was one of the top elopement destinations in Colorado for many years, but recently it’s fallen off with new rules and regulations. I have a handful of beautiful alternative options for elopements and micro-weddings in Breckenridge!
Chautauqua Park offers iconic views of the Boulder flat irons, and is a popular spot for elopements. For small groups this spot can work well, but the trails can be busy. I prefer some of the private overlooks nearby where you can get a bit more peace for the ceremony.
Lost Gulch Overlook is often touted as one of the most “Epic” elopement sites in Colorado, and to be fair, the views are tough to beat. But this location has become absolutely SWARMED with people in recent years. I only recommend it for no-guest elopements on weekdays at sunrise.
Maroon Bells Amphitheater is one of the most beautiful, and most difficult to book, locations for an elopement in all of Colorado! Located in the majestic (but expensive) mountain town of Aspen, this location offers beautiful mountain views, and a private space for small groups to host a wedding ceremony. The problem is this spot books out almost exactly a year to the date, and it’s HIGHLY competitive.
Garden of the Gods offers dynamic mountain views for elopements in Colorado Springs. While this area is truly beautiful, it’s not one of my favorites, due to the frequent amount of crowds. I have some alternative spots that I like even more!
